What is the main issue that your project would like to focus on? What is the current situation that you wish to change?
There is a lack of opportunities for young artists who begin their career and creative work. Since the changes in 1990s the offer began to be limited as regards classical music, and the mutual recognition of the national specifics of the V4 countries has dropped. The traditional cultural links were to a considerable extent disrupted. This is also one of the impacts of globalisation. The V4 countries have similar infrastructure, traditions, historical experience and artistic efforts. The project wants to change this situation by offering opportunities and improve the recognition of the V4, following up on last year and building up on the artistic quality each of the countries can offer. It is focused on classical music.
What should be done to address this issue/problem? How does your project contribute to the solution?
Specific steps need to be taken in order to improve the dissatisfactory conditions as outlined above. This project can do specific steps in the area of cultural exchange and the mainline will be based on the young generation of musical interpreters and their cultural exchange as part of the performative work to be presented to broad audiences and star their carerer. The artistic part of the project will include free public rehearsals, making the project available to any social echelons.
What added value does your project bring to the already existing practices? What is the innovative element in your proposal?
New dramaturgical concept, new rehearsal concept, joint work of the young artists in collaboration with the established partners, i.e. state, public corporations, regional or municipal institutions and a private institution - see the list of partners. The project is focused on young start-up artistic performers from the V4 countries and also wants to help them to establish themselves in all respects. They have not performed in all the V4 countries and this gives them the opportunity to do so at one unique special dramaturgy when appearing the meaninguful integrated intersection the music and interprets of V4 country. In the same time it is very difficult dramaturgical act to prepare it so that no country of V4 with the rich classical music history is left behind with it´s music.
What is the regional relevance of your proposal?
The project is international and is conceived as Central European. It has worldwide recipients. The places of specific performances are capitals or regional centers in V4 countries. The reprises are to be given in all of the countries. Every year "Music of the Central European region of V4 countries" has taking place as a part of the IMF Czech Touches of Music.

Presentation of the classical music culture of the V4 countries as part of the Czech Touches of Music International Music Festival – “Music of the Central European Region V4 Countries”
1) As part of their collaboration over emerging programs (dramaturgy), young artists (composers and performers) introduce themselves to the public mainly as part of their “start up” with experienced and prestigious partners (eclusively state, public - low and municipal symphony orchestras).
2) The project will implement, market and present the interpretive work of young artists through its performances by the professional and lay public, artists, scientists, experts.. The project manage to introduce the composers of V4 countries too.
3) After several months of preparation, study, it will allow young artists to make their interpretive art available in a professional framework through cooperation with prestigious partners - state, public - low and municipal symphony orchestras, where they will finalise the emerging programmes (dramaturgy) in the final form and present them to the public
4) The step on the aforementioned fundation is the presentation of a young interpretive top of 4 countries in the field of classical music as part of a "performance" composed on the programme confrontation of the background of the historical legacy of the previous eras of all four cultures.
5) The historical heritage of the cultures of 4 countries present thematic and dramaturgy programme so that through the great works of composers of all 4 nations is reminded not only of the connection, but also of the famous moments of their history, fulfilling the programme higher purpose and pointing out the uniqueness of national cultures. The stated works, which are embedded in individual dramaturgy, always stand on the essential backgrounds and foundations enshrined in history, Christian and religion traditions, literature, theatrical and, above all, literary backgrounds of the V4 countries.
The proclaimed free exchange of information applies in various areas of activities in society, from education and science to culture. Unfortunately, in some segments of culture we are now facing a decreasing range and diminished mutual recognition of nation-specific features. This applies to a considerable extent also to music of various genres. Globalisation and its basic feature, unification, has taken a great toll on the present conditions. Formerly ordinary and regular presentations of the most interesting pieces created by artists have transferred rather from live performances to electronic media of all kinds, but that cannot be a full-fledged substitute for the necessary contact between artists and their spectators.Central European countries were some of the most important places for concentrated cultural exchange, with their similar infrastructure, traditions, similar historical experience and associated artistic efforts. The presented project, entitled Music of the Central European Region, is consistently based on the fact that the former ties have been disrupted for quite long, and something specific should be made to improve this rather unsatisfactory condition. The management of the ‘Czech Touches of Music’ International Music Festival are far from claiming that nothing would be done in Prague to represent the contemporary scene of the four Visegrad countries, but that the necessary exchange of the best art should take on a different form. They have therefore prepared, as the second step, a 13-month concept continuing the last project at 2019-2020.

The Slovak opera singer Lucie Duchonova, whose album entitled Canto a Sevilla was nominated for the 2011 Grammy award, and Dita Rohmann, a Hungarian solo cellist who is also a tutor at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. The topic is the poetry of the national folk tones in the landscape, tradition and habits of the V4 countries.

The magic of national tones and the treasury of folk melodics, all of this is folklore music. By singing it, creating it and writing it, people for centuries relieved the burden of their fates. It was often used to liberate them from fear or death, or just as a pastime. It became a source of inspiration for national epics: The Old Polish Music by N. Gorecky,Pictures from Hungaria by Bartok, the Balladic Suite by E. Suchon, the beautiful songs from the Czech and Moravian Highlands by B. Martinu, or even Beauty by Ivan Kurz. And having Wojciech Rodek conducting his philharmonic orchestra from Lublin? That’s synchronicity and symbiosis, enhanced with the collaboration with Dita Rohmann. Dvorak’s compositions for violoncello will be presented with the Slovak opera star Lucia Duchonova. Music of the Central European Region – V4 Countries also presents important authors of the 20th century and contemporary composers from these four countries.

The Celtic mysteries are reflected in the tones of the harp from the Danube to the Bohemian Paradise in the mystics of their druids, and the magic of karpsats and alps meets genius loci. The Krzesany is a dance with stylised steps from the Podhale region, with the typical touch of the heels when springing up to the dancing melodies in the typical flinging rhythm.
The festival is the only one in the Czech Republic to systematically introduce the best of classical music from the V4 countries, including the launching of young stars of classical music. Three concerts were held in.The year 2018/2019 to celebrate the chairmanship of the Czech Republic in the Visegrad group. This is a sequel after the pandemic interplay. Colourful and poetic, dancing as well as rhapsodic, thematically consistent and interesting for the audiences, all this makes up an evening of music of the Central European region, featuring the leading interpreters from the V4 countries.

The festival is the only one in the Czech Republic to systematically introduce the best of classical music from the V4 countries, including the launching of young stars of classical music. Three events were held in the year 2018/2019 to celebrate the chairmanship of the Czech Republic in the Visegrad group. This is a sequel after the pandemic interplay. The first Czech female virtuoso, violinist Jitka Hosprova, and the young and extraordinarily talented Polish violinist Maria Machowska will give a performance in the main roles for the gems of Polish and Hungarian music. Szymanowski’s Concerto No. 2 is an imposing post-Romantic composition. Bartok’s Concerto for viola, the composer’s last Neo-Classical work, is exceptional. The phenomenal Slovak modernist composer Vladimir Godar reflects on Bartok. The programme is complemented with symphonic poems which draw on the culture and history of both nations: Sinfonietta rustica by the Slovak composer Eugen Suchon, the renowned symphonic poem by Bedrich Smetana, Wallenstein’s Camp, inspired by the heroism of the greatest Czech Modern Age generalissimo, Albrecht Vaclav Eusebius of Wallenstein.
